Therapeutic Riding Association of Ottawa-Carleton

The “Horsepower for Seniors” program aims to improve quality of life through a unique experience that increases happiness and expands social connection. Designed by TROtt’s older adult volunteers to share with other older adults, this program involves six weekly visits where participants groom, lead, play games, and event pain the horses! The gentle, friendly temperament of the horses helps build a community where older adults help each other, learn new challenges, and share horse experiences.

“The Fondation Miroir’s support has been instrumental in establishing a strong foundation that will allow the program to continue growing and reaching even more seniors in our community”

— Stacey McCready, Fundraising Director
