Royal Ottawa Place

The “Tri-Shaw Freedom” bike program is a beloved activity that brings joy, social connection, and a sense of freedom to residents, their families and friends. With the support of the Miroir Foundation, the Royal Ottawa Place is excited to add a wheel-chair accessible to their fleet. This would allow them to reach more residents and offer them the uplifting experience of appreciating nature and enjoying community rides. the Royal Ottawa Place can’t wait to expand this impactful program and bring that experience of “feeling the wind in your hair” to even more residents!

“The residents that have been able to participate in the program thus far have expressed gratitude in getting outdoors and being a part of the community. We’ve seen an increase in positive affect and shift in mood, decrease in agitation, stress, and anxiety.”

— Kellie Halligan, Recreation Therapist
