Our Past Events
Celebrating our team’s efforts to raise funds for the Miroir Foundation and champion joyful programs that enrich the lives of older adults—no matter their circumstance.
Bringing Connection to the Forefront
This fall, our President, Linda Garcia, delivered an inspiring talk on loneliness among older adults at the 2025 Life Research Institute Next Frontier of Healthy Ageing: Social Connectedness. With enthusiasm and conviction, she emphasized the power of connection and community in later life. She also took the opportunity to highlight the WHO 2025 report on loneliness and social connection, as well as a new global initiative called the Social Connection Collective.
Leisure is a right, not a privilege.
In August 2025, our Secretary, Louise Bélanger-Hardy, delivered an inspiring talk at Forest Valley Terrace on the importance of leisure in later life. Drawing on her background as a lawyer, Louise encouraged attendees to recognize and embrace their right to joy, connection, and meaningful experiences.
Building Communities that Care
On February 16th, 2025, our Treasurer, Catharina Van Es, delivered an inspiring talk on building Dementia Friendly Communities. She used both her warmth and her expertise to show how we can foster inclusion, dignity, and connection for older adults living with dementia.
Joy in Every Stride
The Fondation Miroir Foundation team showed up strong at the 2025 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, bringing joy and energy every step of the way.
We ran to raise awareness for older adults across Canada and to support the Foundation’s mission: creating meaningful, joy-filled moments that fight isolation and foster connection. Because everyone deserves to feel seen, connected, and celebrated no matter their age.
100 Women Who Care
The Miroir Foundation was deeply honored to be chosen as a featured charity for the 100 Women Who Care, Ottawa meeting on March 3rd, 2025. This was an incredible opportunity to spread our mission of bringing joy, connection, and hope to older adults, no matter their circumstances. Your unwavering support makes all the difference, and we are truly grateful to everyone who supports this cause.
