Osgoode Care Centre

The “Power of Music” initiative is a music therapy program that aims to bring the power of music into the daily life of their residents. Led by a certified music therapist, small group and one-to-one sessions help the older adults connect, express themselves, and find real comfort. Older adults with dementia often respond in remarkable ways, engaging with familiar songs even when other forms of communication feel out of reach. This program boosts emotional well-being, eases anxiety, and creates moments of joy that families and staff can see right away!

“Whether creating original songs, learning new instruments, or reconnecting with past musical identities, residents have been able to experience achievement, validation, and meaningful self-expression.”

— Kim Sheldrick, Chief Financial Officer
