Carleton Lodge

Carleton Lodge is delighted to share the success of their new wheel-chair accessible glider swing, made possible by a grant from the Miroir Foundation. Since its installation, the swing has become a beloved gathering spot for residents, families and grandchildren, all of whom enjoy leading the gliding and building a connection with their grandparents. It has also created a meaningful space for older adult couples to relax together in comfort. The swing is now part of group programming as well, enriching daily life with fresh air, companionship, and inter-generational joy.

“The glider swing has become a welcoming and well-used gathering space that encourages and fosters social interaction in an outdoor environment. Residents are going outside more often, benefiting from fresh air, natural sunlight, and time in nature.”

— Marcia Goodfellow, Program Manager
