Brenda Strafford Foundation

The “Opening Minds through Art” program at the Brenda Strafford Foundation brings joy and connection to older adults by offering a creative outlet that enhances emotional well-being. Older adults are excited to start each week’s art projects alongside student volunteers, forming meaningful inter-generational bonds. One resident shared, “I look forward to seeing my partner weekly! She makes me feel like an artist!”

“The impact went far beyond this and was felt by those that volunteered or worked during these sessions. … . The initiative not only enhanced the emotional well-being of our residents who participated but also cultivated inter-generational connections, created shared experienced and mutual learning.”
