Garry J. Armstrong
This novel initiative introduces new technology to the residents of Garry J. Armstrong: Virtual Reality. By offering immersive experiences to transport residences beyond the walls of Garry J. Armstrong, this initiative aims to allow older adults to visit familiar places to them, explore nature and animals, and experience their own personal journey through pictures and memories. By using virtual reality as a gateway for memory, emotion and connection, the staff at Garry J. Armstrong hope to recognize the deep emotional needs of our country’s aging and provide them with a renewed sense of purpose, connection and dignity.
“Families, too, have been touched by this initiative. Seeing their loved ones re-engage, smile, and reminisce has been incredibly meaningful.”
“We cannot thank you enough for the opportunity to bring these memories and adventures to the residents at Garry J. Armstrong Home.”
— Karen Gallagher, Program Manager of Recreation
